Recombinase Polymerase Amplification

Just a quick update to say that the first run of the recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) has been successful. This is a great technique, that is over shadowed by the popular PCR reaction, that amplifies DNA sequences, the massive advantage here is that no specialist cyclers are required and it may even work at below room temperature....lots of things to try! 1. Moving into other species I have just been given some DNA from Haloferax volcanii and from Haloarcula marismortui two archae bacteria that live in the dead sea....lets see what we can find with these, as they live in an extreme environment.
